Technology for the Classroom & Collaboration APPS


Bump is practical and fun! Use it in the classroom to rapidly exchange photos, files, and assignments with students simply by bumping two handheld devices (iPods, iPads, smartphones) that have the Bump application and are sharing the same WiFi network. Students will love it.


Free Grammar Up

Grammar Up is is a free app with a multiple choice quiz system for English which provides over 50 questions across 10 grammar categories. It incudes Adjective word choice; Adverbs word choice; Pronouns word choice; Causative Verbs.

It has a TEST MODE with multipulchoice and the results; PROGRESS METER:that tracks weakn areas.


Textfree Unlimited

This app allows you to text from your ipod touch with out having a phone or cellular text plan. Textfree will give you a internet telephone number and you are on your way to texting other people for free. You can also register the number to receive your cell texts on TextFree. This is a great app for the iPhone and iPad as well.


Stick It - Sticky Notes with Bump

Students and teachers can use sticky notes as reminders as well as exchange sticky notes through Bump technology (see above). Comes with a variety of wallpapers and emojicons which can be used in any iPod text app such as sticky notes, emails, texting. Inexpensive but not free (yet).



Skype is a free app that allows you to make free WiFi to WiFi calls without a cellular connection or contract. Great for the iPod Touch. Skype can be used to communicate with other classrooms around the world - free.



The app is free but an modest subscription is required to use this system. This app enables your students to use their mobile device as a classroom polling station, answering quizzes, voting, and response. Students can even use their iPods to answer homework questions from home. The responses are collected, formatted and presented from the subscription site.


Dragon Dictation

Easy to use free voice-recognition software that allows you to dictate emails and memos up to 5 times faster than typing them into your iPod or iPad.
